\u00abOddworld: Abe’s Oddysee\u00bb var en av de mest unike titlene til den f\u00f8rste Playstation. Det er satt til en utenomjordisk planet, Oddworld, hvor store sadistiske selskaper hersker. Spillet forteller historien om en Mudoken slave som i m\u00f8te med utryddelse blir en usannsynlig helt. Spillet er en 2D puzzle-plattformer hvor du styrer Abe fra skjerm til skjerm, mens du hele tiden m\u00e5 l\u00f8se oppgaver for \u00e5 komme deg videre. Oppf\u00f8lgeren \u00abOddworld: Abe’s Exodus\u00bb fortsetter direkte etter originalen og spilles p\u00e5 samme m\u00e5te.<\/p>\n

\u00abOddworld: Munch’s Oddysee\u00bb<\/a>, det tredje spillet i serien, var en lanseringstittel til den originale Xbox-en og var det f\u00f8rste spillet i serien som brukte 3D-grafikk. Det introduserte Munch som en spillbar karakter i tillegg til Abe, og man m\u00e5tte bruke begge for \u00e5 komme seg forbi mange av oppgavene i spillet. Serien fikk en ny vri da \u00abOddworld: Stranger’s Wrath\u00bb<\/a> kom til Xbox i 2005. Det var satt til en annen del av Oddworld, og var ikke en puzzle-plattformer. Spillet hadde noen plattformdeler, men det var prim\u00e6rt et f\u00f8rstepersons-skytespill. Spillet var satt til en westernsetting, hvor du som hodejegeren Stranger m\u00e5 tjene inn penger til en mystisk operasjon.<\/p>\n

Det vi kan forvente oss fremover er dessverre ikke s\u00e5 s\u00e5 spennende som et helt nytt spill. Oddworld Inhabitants Inc. la ned utviklerdelen av firmaet i 2005 for \u00e5 fokusere p\u00e5 filmprodusering. Selv om det finnes rykter om et nytt spill i utvikling, s\u00e5 m\u00e5 vi nok vente lenge f\u00f8r vi f\u00e5r h\u00f8re noe mer om det. Det vi kan forvente oss derimot er muligheten til \u00e5 spille de gamle spillene om igjen. Lorne Lanning, direkt\u00f8r og kreativ sjef bak Oddworld spillene, sa nylig i et intervju at de for tiden arbeider med \u00e5 f\u00e5 \u00abOddworld: Abe’s Oddysee\u00bb og \u00abOddworld: Abe’s Exodus\u00bb til PSN (Playstation network). I tillegg arbeides det med \u00e5 f\u00e5 \u00abOddworld Munch’s Oddysee\u00bb<\/a> og \u00abOddworld: Stranger’s Wrath\u00bb<\/a> til PC, som skal komme i et alt-inkluderende bokssett passende kalt \u00abOddbox\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Oddworld serien er kjent for sin h\u00f8ye kvalitet og har vunnet over 100 priser verden over. Det vil ikke derimot si at det er for alle. Historiene, settingene og karakterene er alle veldig spesielle, og det kan jo f\u00f8les litt uvant med det f\u00f8rste. De to f\u00f8rste spillene bruker tegnet grafikk, s\u00e5 jeg forventer at de vil ha holdt seg godt og jeg vil anbefale alle som ikke har pr\u00f8vd de til \u00e5 ta seg en titt. Selv gleder jeg meg til mye nostalgi n\u00e5r jeg f\u00e5r kontrollere Abe gjennom utallige farer og usannsynlige situasjoner igjen. Kanskje mest gleder jeg meg til \u00e5 endelig \u00e5 spille gjennom \u00abOddworld: Stranger’s Wrath\u00bb<\/a> med mus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
