Electronic Arts-sjef John Riccitiello mener markedet ikke er interessert i stereoskopisk 3D, og \u00f8nsker \u00e5 fokusere ressursene sine andre steder.<\/p>\n

Ingen stor vekst<\/h5>\n

Det er vanskelig \u00e5 finne en ny flatskjerm i disse dager som ikke inkluderer st\u00f8tte for stereoskopisk 3D, som kan vise “ekte” 3D-bilder ved hjelp av spesialbriller. Sony, som ogs\u00e5 produserer TV-skjermer og andre 3D-kompatible produkter, har uttalt at 3D har v\u00e6rt en suksess, og at de kommer til \u00e5 fortsette \u00e5 satse p\u00e5 3D-st\u00f8tte i spillene sine i fremtiden. Electronic Arts-sjef John Riccitiello er imidlertid av en annen mening. P\u00e5 et \u00e5rlig EA-m\u00f8te ble han spurt av en investor om hans syn p\u00e5 teknologien, og svaret var alt annet et positivt.<\/p>\n

– Vi har ikke sett noen stor vekst i 3D-spilling. Vi har ikke sett noen stor vekst i 3D-skjermer i hjemmet. Vi er ikke her for \u00e5 styre markedet, vi er her for \u00e5 respondere til hva forbrukeren \u00f8nsker, svarte Riccitiello.<\/p>\n

Hodepine, svimmelhet og lavt salg<\/h5>\n

Videre understreket han at det ikke hadde med utgifter \u00e5 gj\u00f8re, ettersom alle EA-spill i utgangspunktet er utviklet i 3D, i motsetning til for eksempel filmbransjen, hvor det krever enorme omlegginger for \u00e5 tilrettelegge for teknologien. Han tror ogs\u00e5 3D kan bidra til en bedre opplevelse, men s\u00e5 lenge forbrukerne ikke vil betale for det, holder de seg unna. Nintendos satsing p\u00e5 3DS ble brukt som eksempel p\u00e5 hvordan brillel\u00f8s 3D-teknologi skulle v\u00e6re det neste store, men i stedet endte med klager om hodepine, svimmelhet og labert salg, som til slutt resulterte i g\u00e5rdagens annonserte prisfall p\u00e5 konsollen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ikke l\u00f8nnsomt<\/h5>\n

Med dette som grunnlag har derfor EA besluttet \u00e5 droppe satsingen p\u00e5 3D-markedet, og heller fokusere p\u00e5 mobilspill, sosiale spill (som Facebook-spill) og nettbaserte spill.<\/p>\n
