Den polske spillutvikleren CD Projekt, som st\u00e5r bak spillserien The Witcher, ansl\u00e5r at det eksisterer over 4,5 millioner piratkopier av The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.<\/p>\n

Det er engelske PC Gamer som har snakket med utvikleren, og de har regnet seg fram til tallet selv. Ved \u00e5 overv\u00e5ke aktiviteten p\u00e5 diverse torrent-sites har de regnet ut et estimat over hvor mange piratkopier som har blitt lastet ned, men CD Projekt-sjef Marcin Iwinski mener estimatet er ganske lavt, og at det reelle tallet piratkopier nok er enda h\u00f8yere.<\/p>\n

– Resultatet av beregningene v\u00e5re er 4,5 millioner illegale nedlastinger. Dette er bare et estimat, og jeg tror det er et litt vel optimistisk tall. Per i dag har vi solgt over en million lovlige eksemplarer av spillet, s\u00e5 4,5-5 piratkopier per lovlige eksemplar er ikke en ille ratio. Virkeligheten er antagelig mye verre, sier Iwinski til PC Gamer.<\/p>\n

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings ble lansert uten piratbeskyttelse (DRM), fordi CD Projekt mener at uansett hva slags beskyttelse de hadde lagt med spillet ville det blitt cracket i l\u00f8pet av kort tid.<\/p>\n
