Nintendo annonserte i natt at de kommer til \u00e5 droppe sin tradisjonelle presentasjon i forkant av \u00e5rets E3-messe i Los Angeles. Det betyr at Sony og Microsoft blir de eneste konsollprodusentene med sitt eget forshow f\u00f8r E3-messa \u00e5pner.<\/p>\n

Nintendo Direct<\/h5>\n

Jeg har v\u00e6rt p\u00e5 E3 i over tretten \u00e5r, og h\u00f8ydepunktet for de fleste som drar dit har alltid v\u00e6rt pressekonferansene i forkant av messa. Det er her alle nye titler annonseres, det er her hemmeligheter avsl\u00f8res, og det er her boksehanskene tas p\u00e5 og konsollprodusentene denger l\u00f8s p\u00e5 hverandre i kampen om kundene.<\/p>\n

At Nintendo n\u00e5 har valgt \u00e5 hoppe av er egentlig ikke en stor overraskelse.<\/p>\n

For det f\u00f8rste vet alle hva E3 i \u00e5r kommer til \u00e5 handle om: Playstation 4 og den neste Xbox-konsollen. Presse og forhandlere kommer til \u00e5 rette all fokus p\u00e5 de nye konsollene, noe som har f\u00f8rt til at flere akt\u00f8rer bruker litt mindre penger enn normalt p\u00e5 messa i \u00e5r. Det har alltid v\u00e6rt et problem \u00e5 bli h\u00f8rt i st\u00f8yen av annonseringer p\u00e5 E3, i \u00e5r blir nok den mest st\u00f8yfulle messa p\u00e5 mange \u00e5r.<\/p>\n

Samtidig har nok Nintendo f\u00e5tt med seg hvordan spillpressens rolle er i ferd med \u00e5 fases ut. Spillere trenger ikke lenger ty til tradisjonelle spillmedier for \u00e5 f\u00e5 info om kommende spill. De siste \u00e5rene har alle pressekonferanser p\u00e5 E3 v\u00e6rt direktesendt p\u00e5 nettet, noe som har f\u00f8rt til at pressens rolle som mellomledd mellom utgiverne og forbrukerne har blitt svekket. Produsenter og utgivere kommuniserer direkte mot spillere via sosiale medier og spillmedier de kan kontrollere. Spillmedier som rene nyhetsformidlere st\u00e5r svakere enn noensinne.<\/p>\n

Nintendo har selv innf\u00f8rt sin Nintendo Direct, der toppsjefene i Nintendo kommuniserer direkte til forbrukerne via direktesendte programmer flere ganger i \u00e5ret. I disse sendingene annonseres nye spill, nye funksjoner og andre nyheter – f\u00f8r pressen f\u00e5r vite om det.<\/p>\n

Derfor er det ingen overraskelse at Nintendo dropper pressekonferansen i \u00e5r. Tegnene var der allerede i fjor, da de lanserte en egen portal p\u00e5 nettsidene sine med filmer og direkte informasjon om spillene direkte til spillerne. Jeg tipper de vil gj\u00f8re noe tilsvarende i \u00e5r, komme med egne Nintendo Direct-sendinger, og snakke direkte til spillerne under E3 via nettet.<\/p>\n
