N\u00e5r jeg lukker \u00f8ynene og forestiller meg hvordan det er i Capcoms styrerom ser jeg for meg en gjeng hodel\u00f8se h\u00f8ner som l\u00f8per panisk rundt mens de flakser med vingene.<\/p>\n

Vi snakker om en av de virkelig store japanske akt\u00f8rene som p\u00e5 80- og 90-tallet produserte banebrytende og trendsettende spillopplevelser. Det er et velkjent faktum at finanskrisa har rammet Japan hardt og at spillsalget i Japan har slitt de siste \u00e5rene. Det har f\u00f8rt til en avhengighet av at produktene skal bli mottatt bra i vesten og, noe som igjen har f\u00f8rt til drastiske endringer i tradisjonelle japanske merkevarer. <\/p>\n

For meg virker det som Capcom ikke aner hva de vil med Resident Evil-serien, de fors\u00f8ker fortvilt \u00e5 lage noe som er lettsolgt i stedet for noe med substans og kontekst.<\/p>\n

S\u00e5 ogs\u00e5 med Resident Evil: Revelations. Opprinnelig utviklet for Nintendo 3DS var spillet et artig nikk tilbake til de klassiske Resident Evil-spillene. Med kontrollsystemet fra fireren og g\u00e5tene og utforskingen fra de eldste spillene. Det fungerte bra, men f\u00f8ltes utdatert.<\/p>\n

Relanseringen av spillet til Playstation 3, Xbox 360 og PC har ikke v\u00e6rt hundre prosent vellykket. Selv om grafikken har f\u00e5tt et lite l\u00f8ft og er mer enn funksjonabel, er omgivelsene relativt sparsomme og niv\u00e5designet litt for klaustrofobisk og tomt. Man merker savnet av en reell spillfysikk, at et par tomme pappesker i en korridor skal forhindre en elitesoldat fra \u00e5 passere er ikke spesielt troverdig. De statiske omgivelsene er som hentet rett ut fra de gamle spillene med stasjon\u00e6re kameraer, og man savner en bedre dynamikk mellom hovedpersonene, monstrene og omgivelsene.<\/p>\n

Spillet skjemmes ogs\u00e5 av hyppige sm\u00e5 pauser for \u00e5 laste inn informasjon. F\u00f8r en mellomsekvens. Etter en mellomsekvens. Hele tiden. Det virker ikke optimalisert for dataoverf\u00f8ring p\u00e5 de stasjon\u00e6re konsollene. <\/p>\n

Raid-modusen er heldigvis tilbake, og f\u00e5r nok nytt liv ved hjelp av de mer tilgjengelige nettsystemene p\u00e5 PS3 og Xbox 360. I tillegg byr spillet p\u00e5 en ny vanskelighetsgrad for de som liker \u00e5 pl\u00f8ye gjennom historien flere ganger.<\/p>\n

Men alt i alt er dette selve definisjonen p\u00e5 et middelm\u00e5dig og utdatert actionspill. Kanskje har jeg blitt skadet av at jeg spilte The Last of Us samtidig med dette, det gjorde nok at alle de utdaterte, rigide og tungnemme spillmekanikkene i Residente Evil: Revelations ble belyst enda sterkere.<\/p>\n

Sannheten er at det er fullt mulig \u00e5 ha det g\u00f8y med dette spillet. Det er et straight Resident Evil-spill som aldri n\u00e5r h\u00f8ydene til fireren eller de to f\u00f8rste i serien. Men det er mer tro mot Resident Evil-arven enn fjor\u00e5rets fadese Resident Evil 6. S\u00e5 er du fan er dette vel verdt en titt.<\/p>\n
