Da var adventstiden omsider i gang, og etter en introduksjon<\/a> i g\u00e5r kan vi herved kalle julekalenderen for startet. Vi starter med From Softwares rollespill Dark Souls fra 2011, som p\u00e5 samme m\u00e5te som forgjengeren Demon’s Souls vakte mye oppsikt for sin gruelige og utilgivelige vanskelighetsgrad. Les v\u00e5r skribent Jonas’ begrunnelse p\u00e5 hvorfor spillet fortjener 24.-plassen nedenfor:<\/p>\n

Nummer 24 – Dark Souls<\/h5>\n

Mye har blitt sagt om Souls-serien og det meste er helt sant. De er<\/em> utilgivelig\u00a0 <\/span>vanskelige, og du kommer til \u00e5 d\u00f8 igjen og igjen. Det er og blir et faktum. Dark Souls <\/em>videref\u00f8rer konseptet fra den konsolleksklusive Demon\u2019s Souls<\/em>, men implementerer det i et s\u00f8ml\u00f8st univers fylt med deprimerende ensomhet og mystikk. Jeg elsker <\/em>dette spillet, og jeg har ingen problemer med \u00e5 titulere det som min absolutte favoritt fra den forrige konsollgenerasjonen.<\/p>\n

Ofte f\u00f8ler jeg at utviklere behandler oss som idioter. De holder oss i h\u00e5nden hele tiden og forklarer ned i detalj hvordan spillet fungerer. De etterlater ingenting for oss til \u00e5 utforske p\u00e5 egenh\u00e5nd, og det er her Dark Souls <\/em>skiller seg fra hveten. Du blir plassert i et m\u00f8rkt og utilgivelig univers med minimal kunnskap om hva du skal gj\u00f8re og hvordan ting fungerer. Du er helt alene og alle du st\u00f8ter p\u00e5 \u00f8nsker deg vondt. F\u00f8lelsen av komplett ensomhet siger inn og du innser at dette er noe du m\u00e5 mestre helt p\u00e5 egenh\u00e5nd.<\/p>\n

Selv om spillet ofte er urimelig vanskelig f\u00f8les det aldri billig. Det er rett og slett min egen feil hver gang skjermen g\u00e5r svart og den r\u00f8de teksten med \u201dYou died\u201d popper opp. Dark Souls <\/em>l\u00e6rer deg nemlig gjennom erfaring. Ved hvert d\u00f8dsfall tilegner du ny kunnskap om fiendens m\u00f8nster og hvordan du kan sl\u00e5 han neste gang . Det tar tid og krever at du er t\u00e5lmodig og disiplinert, samtidig som du m\u00e5 holde sinnet og frustrasjonen i sjakk. Det blir nesten som en slags form for meditasjon, for du kommer ikke videre om du er uforsiktig og r\u00e5dvill.<\/p>\n

Dark Souls <\/em>er definitivt ikke et spill for alle, men for meg var det en utfordring jeg ikke klarte \u00e5 gi slipp p\u00e5. Mestringsf\u00f8lelsen er helt enorm og frykten for \u00e5 d\u00f8 er ofte s\u00e5 stor at hendene blir klamme og pulsen \u00f8ker. Det er en karusell av f\u00f8lelser som blir eksponert, og fra det ene \u00f8yeblikket du hyler ut et seiersrop kan du neste sekund d\u00f8 og m\u00e5 starte helt p\u00e5 nytt. Smilet forsvinner og du f\u00e5r lyst til \u00e5 kaste kontrolleren i bakken. Det er n\u00e6rmest sadistisk til tider, men jeg finner likevel en viss sjarme i all elendigheten. Dark Souls <\/em>er et annerledes spill, et spill som viser at ingenting er umulig om du pr\u00f8ver hardt nok. Jeg har et ambivalent forhold til Dark Souls, <\/em>men det er utvilsomt min favoritt.<\/p>\n

Premien blir ganske ordin\u00e6r i dag, og vi gir bort en goodiebag til en heldig vinner. Alt du trenger \u00e5 gj\u00f8re for \u00e5 delta er \u00e5 svare p\u00e5 sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5let under, som selvsagt dreier seg om dagens spill.
