3D Realms, eller Apogee Software, Ltd. som selskapet opprinnelig heter, har n\u00e5 blitt oppkj\u00f8pt av det danske utviklerstudioet Interceptor Entertainment. Dette har blant annet blitt bekreftet i en nylig tweet<\/a> fra Interceptor-sjef Frederik Schreiber.<\/p>\n

3D Realms er nok best kjent som skaperne av Duke Nukem-serien, samt av andre kjente action-spill som Rise of the Triad og Shadow Warrior. Selskapet har siden utgivelsen av Duke Nukem Forever holdt en lav profil p\u00e5 utvikler- og utgiverfronten, men gitt ut noen av lisensene sine til andre utviklere.<\/p>\n

Et av de utviklerstudioene som fikk tilgang p\u00e5 nettopp en av 3D Realms’ lisenser var danske Interceptor Entertainment. Interceptor har blant annet gitt de to f\u00f8rste Duke Nukem-spillene nytt liv p\u00e5 iOS-plattformen, og produsert en fullblods Rise of the Triad-remake til PC.<\/p>\n

Utvikler uautorisert Duke Nukem-spill<\/h5>\n

For noen uker siden kunne Interceptor Entertainment avduke at de utvikler et splitter nytt Duke Nukem-spill<\/a>, med undertittelen Mass Destruction. Det RPG-pregede Duke Nukem-spillet utvikles i samarbeid med 3D Realms, men s\u00f8ksm\u00e5l fra Gearbox, n\u00e5v\u00e6rende eier av Duke Nukem-lisensen, har stilt sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5lstegn til Mass Destructions framtid.<\/p>\n

N\u00f8yaktig hva det faktum at Interceptor n\u00e5 overtar 3D Realms vil ha \u00e5 si for Duke Nukem-prosjektet er ukjent, men det danske studioet akter i hvert fall \u00e5 l\u00f8fte 3D Realms tilbake til gamle h\u00f8yder. Mike Nielsen, ny sjef for 3D Realms hadde f\u00f8lgende \u00e5 si til den danske avisen B\u00f8rsen<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Med kj\u00f8pet har vi et m\u00e5l om \u00e5 styrke 3D Realms og beskytte den legenden<\/em> det er.
