Peter Hines fra utgiveren avkrefter overfor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnet.com\/news\/bethesda-confirms-prey-2-cancelled\/\">CNET<\/a> og <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/2014\/10\/31\/prey-2-is-officially-cancelled\">IGN<\/a> at Human Head Studios utvikler spillet, og det er dermed uklart hva som kommer til \u00e5 skje med merkevaren.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Det var et spill vi trodde p\u00e5, men vi f\u00f8lte aldri at det kom dit det burde ha v\u00e6rt &#8211; vi s\u00e5 aldri en vei mot suksess om vi hadde fullf\u00f8rt det. Det n\u00e5dde ikke opp til v\u00e5r kvalitetsstandard og vi bestemte oss for \u00e5 kansellere det. Det er ikke lenger i utvikling. Det var ikke en lett avgj\u00f8relse \u00e5 ta, men det vil neppe overraske noe s\u00e6rlig med tanke p\u00e5 at vi ikke har snakket s\u00e5 mye om spillet.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Prey 2 ble annonsert i mars 2011 som et sci-fi-eventyr der man tr\u00e5dde inn i rollen som en dus\u00f8rjeger p\u00e5 en fremmed planet. Det oppsto imidlertid problemer, og av kvalitetsgrunner ble spillet utsatt opp til flere ganger. Til slutt gikk det rykter om at Dishonored-utvikleren Arkane Studios hadde tatt over roret etter Human Head, og Kotaku lekket blant annet en mengde mailer som tydet p\u00e5 at de var godt i gang med utviklingen.<\/p>\n<p>Men n\u00e5 er alts\u00e5 prosjektet historie.
